Problems and Solutions in Milling Cutter Processing
Release time:
Nov 12,2021
If the milling speed is too high, the processing efficiency may not be improved, but the tool wear will be accelerated, the tool cost and the tool change time will be increased. If the milling speed is too low, the processing efficiency will be poor and time will be wasted. Therefore, choosing the appropriate milling speed (or spindle rotation number) is the correct method to exert the maximum benefit and processing efficiency of the tool.
1. Problem: The tool breaks when cutting into or pulling out the workpiece
Solution: can reduce the feed, cutting depth, the cutting edge length shortened to the necessary length of the minimum.
2. Problem: The tool is broken during normal processing
Solution:
(1) Reduce the feed rate and cutting depth.
(2) the tool for passivation.
(3) Replace the clamp or spring chuck.
(4) high blade number tool to change the low blade number, improve chip removal to prevent clogging.
(5) Replace dry milling with wet (using cutting fluid) and use it with a vortex tube gun to reduce the tool temperature to avoid overheating.
(6) If the supply direction of wet milling liquid is supplied from the front, it is changed to supply liquid from the oblique rear or the horizontal top, and the coolant flow rate should be sufficient.
3. Problem: The tool breaks when the feed direction changes
Solution:
(1) the use of circular interpolation (NC machine), or temporarily stop (temporary) feed.
(2) Reduce (reduce) the feed before and after the direction change.
(3) Replace the clamp or spring chuck.
4. Problem: The blade of the blade tip is broken.
Solution:
(1) Use manual grinding to chamfer the corner.
(2) Change from forward milling to reverse milling.
5. Problem: Partial collapse of cutting depth interface
Solution:
(1) Change from forward milling to reverse milling.
(2) Reduce the cutting speed.
6. Problem: The chipping edge is distributed in the central part or throughout the entire cutting edge (small chipping edge)
Solution:
(1) Blunt the chamfer or increase the chamfer.
(2) Change the number of spindle revolutions (when the machine has vibration).
(3) Increase the cutting speed.
(4) Replace the clamp or spring chuck.
(5) when there is friction sound in milling, increase the feed.
(6) If dry milling is used, change to wet or air cooling.
(7) Replace the clamp or spring chuck.
(8) Reduce the cutting speed.
