When choosing a milling cutter, pay attention to the milling cutter body and tool holder:

Milling cutter is used in CNC machining center, or ordinary milling machine.

Material and hardness of milling cutter.

Milling cutter specifications, such as: blade length, full length, blade diameter, shank diameter, etc.

If it is used in CNC machining center, it should choose the whole hard alloy, ordinary milling machine can choose white steel.

The hardness of white steel milling cutter is softer than that of carbide milling cutter. High-speed steel knives are cheap and have good toughness, but their strength is not high, they are easy to make knives, and their wear resistance and thermal hardness are relatively poor. The thermal hardness of high-speed steel milling cutters is about 600 ℃ and the hardness is about 65HRC. Obviously, when milling harder materials with white steel, it is easy to burn knives if the coolant is not in place, which is one of the reasons why the thermal hardness is not high. Cemented carbide milling cutter has good thermal hardness and wear resistance, but its impact resistance is poor. The blade will be broken when it is thrown casually. Cemented carbide is a material made by powder metallurgy method, with hardness up to 90HRA and thermal resistance up to 900-1000 ℃. Therefore, white steel is suitable for ordinary milling machine, alloy milling cutter when CNC machining center.
